Intelligence Quotient Evaluation

Intelligence testing began in France, in 1904, when a psychologist Alfred Binet was commissioned by the French government to find a method to differentiate between children who were intellectually normal and those who were comparatively inferior. The purpose was to put the latter into special schools where they would receive more individual attention. This led to the development of the Binet Scale. However, Binet himself cautioned against misuse of the scale or misunderstanding of its implications. Today, there are many scales available for IQ testing. It needs an expert to choose the right scale for a specific purpose and also to administer these tests and evaluate the individual professionally. This calls for knowledge of the testing processes available and their interpretation. It's improper use can have disastrous and unfair effects on individuals. Hence, it is necessary that you deal with a professional while having an IQ evaluation done.
